Maryll Dame Delposo or Myr,
 

 

lives her life with a splash of color. Dabbling with arts from a young age, she primarily worked with traditional visual arts mediums before getting into digital art. Ever since before, Myr has always found solace in art. It became a vehicle for her to express her innermost thoughts and feelings without feeling restricted by words thus, she pursued practicing her art in university and in her undergraduate thesis she pushed through with artistic-practice research, banking on her personal experience as an LGBTQIA+ individual and carrying her advocacy of being a visual artist that uses their art as a vehicle of truth that is not often seen by the public. She describes her art style as stylized and plays around with art elements and often exaggerates or simplifies details to communicate the message of her work.

 

She graduated Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines Mindanao in June 2022 and has been involved in visual communication endeavors such as graphic designing, illustrations, and layout. 

 

Her works have garnered recognition on both national and international stages. The latest among them is her artistic practice research, which is scheduled to be presented in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2024. The artworks from the same research also qualified for the annual NCCA GALLERY AND EXHIBITION PROGRAM 2023 as a solo exhibition which was available from March 7 - 31, 2023Additionally, the photograph titled 'Avarice,' was a finalist in the Out of the Mist competition where she assumed the roles of model, production, and costume designer. This was exhibited at the Judith Wright Art Center in Brisbane, Australia, last October. She has also been invited as a resource person for various activities related to gender, research, and art.

Myr's creativity proved beneficial in her work as a Children's Book Illustrator at NABU Global INC as part of the team Philippines. NABU GLOBAL INC is a non-profit organization based in New York, USA aiming to make literacy accessible for children across the globe through distributing multilingual children's stories. A Book Designer in UP Mindanao Banwa Publication, which releases books containing research created by UP Mindanao constituents.

Currently, she is exploring diverse art mediums and engaging in various art-related activities, including textile art, animation, performative art, sculpture, and more.
